Class descriptions

Group fitness classes are a fun and interactive way to get fit and healthy – a great workout for all ages and fitness levels, and to help you stay motivated.

We have a huge range of classes at the Phillip Island Leisure Centre including Spin classes, Body Pump, Combat and Balance. We have pilates and boxing options as well as early morning outdoor training. We have both low and high impact activities to suit any age or fitness level.

Classes

Spin Classes:
A high energy cardio workout with great motivating instructors. Low impact as you virtually ride yourself up mountains and along winding flat lands. Suitable for all fitness levels. Easy as riding a bike!

BodyBalance™:
A pre-choreographed mind body class set to inspiring music. Featuring movement and techniques that draw from Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates, you will leave this class feeling aligned, strong and energised.

BodyCombat™:
A pre-choreographed martial arts moves to music class! Drawing from a variety of boxing and kick boxing disciplines, the class provides a great overall work out strengthening legs through kicks and shuffles and the upper body through a variety of punches, hand and elbow strikes.

BodyPump™:
A pre-choreographed weights to music class using plates and barbells. One of the most popular classes in the world! If you don’t have time to do your own weights program, step right up to this class and enjoy exhilarating total body workout!

Box Fit:
A great, high energy, fun workout. Focus is on getting a sweat up and releasing the weeks stress. Use of gloves, mits and bags to make it more fun.

Kick Boxing:
Conducted over 90 minutes this class comprised Kick Boxing and Boxing technique, cardio training, core work and if you wish an opportunity to 'spa' with other class participants in a controlled environment.  

Pilates:
Feel like something low impact and fantastic on the body. Pilates is a core based class with many exercises focusing on the back and stomach area. You will feel stronger for joining on this class.

EMT:

Effective Movement Training combines resistance exercise in a circuit based format to give a full body workout and is suitable for everybody. Sessions vary from week to week to keep it interesting and challenging.

Heartmoves:

Heartmoves is a gentle physical activity program suitable for those with a lower level of fitness and reduced mobility. It will  help with balance, coordination and flexibility among other things as well as enhancing your quality of life and a great social aspect.
